6, 8, 16 and 24-incision Radial Keratotomy.
|
Patients who have undergone prior radial keratotomy for higher degrees
of myopia will need to have the corneal power estimated by one of
several indirect methods.
The historical method following radial keratotomy may contain certain
pitfalls as many of these patients have an ongoing hyperopic shift,
which may be partially masked by increasing lenticula myopia.
At present, one of the Topography-based Power Adjustment Methods is our
preferred approach.
As an alternative, as long as the visual acuity is better than 20/80,
the Contact Lens Method will also give reasonably good results
following RK, but this method seems to work less well following LASIK.
